When saving, budgeting, and energy conservation are not enough, the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) may help those who qualify. The HEAP season opens November 13, 2017 and is scheduled to close March 15th, 2018 or when funds are exhausted.
If you received a HEAP benefit last season you will receive an “early outreach” application in the mail at the end of August or early September. If you receive Temporary Assistance (TA) or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), you may receive HEAP automatically and do not need to apply.
If you are new to HEAP and need an application, you can contact one of the following agencies:
If you choose to apply online, visit www.mybenefits.ny.gov.
